Dr. Carlos Robinson is a proud Douglass High School alumnus. He was born and raised in House District 99.

Meet Dr. Carlos Robinson

Dr. Carlos Robinson is a community-focused leader dedicated to expanding opportunity and strengthening neighborhoods across District 99.

With more than 15 years of executive leadership experience spanning workforce development, higher education, nonprofit management, and strategic partnerships, Dr. Robinson has worked to create pathways for individuals, families, and businesses to succeed.

Born and raised in House District 99 and a proud Douglass High School alumnus, Dr. Robinson understands firsthand the importance of access to quality education, economic opportunity, and strong community support systems. Dr. Carlos has been married to Dr. Rica Robinson for over a decade. They share a fur baby named Cookie.

His campaign is focused on practical solutions that help working families, support small businesses, and prepare future generations for success.

Dr. Robinson is committed to operating a responsive and accessible office that prioritizes the needs of District 99 residents.

His approach includes:

  • Approach: Meet People Where They Are

    • Host monthly rotating town halls across neighborhoods (churches, schools, community centers, small businesses)

    • Launch “Coffee with Carlos” & “Community Conversations” series for informal engagement

    • Provide virtual options for accessibility (Zoom/Live streams)

    • Create a “You Said, We Did” report after each session to show impact

    Impact: Residents don’t just speak—they see their voices turned into action.

  • Approach: Build Coalitions That Deliver Results

    • Formalize a District 99 Advisory Council (education, business, faith, youth, healthcare leaders)

    • Strengthen partnerships with:

      • Schools & Career Centers

      • Small business & workforce organizations

      • Faith-based and nonprofit leaders

    • Host quarterly partnership roundtables to align resources and initiatives

    • Leverage relationships to bring funding, programs, and opportunities into the district

    Impact: No duplication of efforts—just aligned, strategic progress.

  • Approach: A District Office That Works Like a Service Hub

    • Establish a District 99 Constituent Services Office/Hotline

    • Guarantee timely response standards (24–48 hour acknowledgment)

    • Provide support for:

      • State agency navigation

      • Workforce & job connections

      • Small business resources

      • Community concerns

    • Track and report case resolutions and outcomes

    Impact: Government becomes accessible, not frustrating.

  • Approach: Make Government Understandable

    • Publish simple, easy-to-understand legislative updates:

      • “What This Bill Means for You”

    • Send monthly District Updates (email, social, text)

    • Host Legislative Recap Sessions during and after session

    • Maintain a transparent voting record and position summaries

    Impact: Residents are informed, not left in the dark.

  • Approach: From Conversation to Execution

    • Use a “Identify → Align → Act” framework:

      1. Identify community need

      2. Align partners/resources

      3. Execute with accountability

    • Lead issue-based working groups (housing, youth safety, economic development)

    • Partner across:

      • City, county, and state leadership

      • Public & private sectors

    • Track progress through measurable outcomes and public reporting
